Well I haven't felt well all day (cold, shivering). Deciding to follow budget and ensuing discussions was probably not a good idea for physical/mental health.
Particularly annoyed that financial statement was described as a budget (that would have led to a 4/5 day debate in parliament), that no one challenged the fiscal blackhole (an invention) and practically no mention of impact of #Brexit (I might have slept through that.)
Above all though no mention of for profit cost of #socialcare

Some folks have asked, "why not replicate your Twitter follows?" Obviously you should do what you want, but the Twitterverse was created with a lot of perverse incentives and strange distortions. To discover what makes this design unique, you may have better luck hand-curating your experience here than simply trying to replicate something from before, which is arguably broken in weird ways. A slower, more considered approach is, I think, worth trying.

Disclosure: I’m preferring Mastodon over Twitter.

I have written a short blog to explain the difference between Mastodon and Twitter when it comes to its algorithms and ownership. Let’s have a look at the elephant in the room…
#TwitterMigration #Mastodon #Twitter #MastodonMigration

I was explaining Mastodon to my wife and how it's different from other social media sites. I explained that I find it to be an inclusive, welcoming place. I explained that nearly everyone I follow is either gay or neurodiverse or trans or disabled. I explained that it's the first place I feel like I can actually really be myself and that people here are welcoming and supportive of me being myself. And that's why I've been so happy lately. She said "why don't you tell them that?" and I said ok!

Since being diagnosed I smile significantly less than I did. That may sound negative but it’s not. I used to smile a lot more because I was masking. So I’d fake facial expressions I knew NTs responded to. Now I don’t feel like I need to do that, so I fake smile a lot less. When I’m neutral it doesn’t mean I’m not happy. I just don’t emote like other people, and it’s been a big effort to pretend. #actuallyautistic @actuallyautistic

We're looking for academics/PhD students who've recently migrated from Twitter to Mastodon, are currently doing so, considering it, or who don't intend to. We're interested in finding out about people’s opinions on migration & the differences between Twitter & Mastodon. If you wish to take part in our online focus group, please complete our initial survey lancasteruni.eu.qualtrics.com/, which also includes further information about the research. Please boost! 🔁

I've learned that #masking as an #ActuallyAutistic is not a binary thing. It is like an onion win many layers.

There are layers of #unmasking that require extreme levels of trust and/or #fearlessness that are super rare. Even with loved partners, even in #safespaces for neurodivergence.

These deep layers include letting people into the "the basement" of your mind, seeing all the darkness and trauma and monsters down there.

Just joined and finding my way around this new place...slightly frustrated as I've been in three ticket sale queues and got zero from all three! But I'm not bitter (much)...at least I got accepted by @photosymbols to join this place - thanks 👍
