Oh thank goodness! I'm not quite sure how many decades it takes for to finally dampen us all a little bit, but at least some of the most needy are seeing it begin......

What an excellent overview of the interaction between education and a person's whole life, with a focus on how society should be enabled to welcome and support people with learning disabilities.
Fully applicable to everyone, irrespective of difference:

Frank Wise School are back at the Odeon cinema in Banbury with another blockbuster Christmas film!
They’ve rolled the red carpet out and children, families and staff will enjoy a premiere like no other.
Along with the film, they have also pulled together 3 separate live performances so that every single child in the school takes some degree of starring role to share with their friends and families.

Staff had achieved outstanding outcomes for #autistic people by supporting medical professionals to reduce or stop a reliance on medicines and explore alternative ways to help people manage their needs.

The provider identified a previously unrecognised negative impact on a person's wellbeing due to the side effect of an anti-psychotic medicine.

As a result, people were able to be more independent in their new homes.

One staff said of three people,

"They weren't allowed in the kitchen at their previous place, and now they make pizzas.

Basically, anything they can do for themselves now they do it.

They vacuum, they clean the floors, they are just involved in everything."

"The inspection was prompted in part by notification of an incident following which a person using the service sustained harm.

This incident is subject to further investigation by CQC as to whether any regulatory action should be taken.

As a result, this inspection did not examine the circumstances of the incident.

However, the information shared with CQC about the incident indicated potential concerns about the management of risk of safeguarding, reporting and training"

CQC have published two reports into Achieve Together services this month, while they were picking up awards, people they are paid to support were at risk of abuse and neglect.

First up Inglewood House, inadequate since May 2022.

I'm still trying to adjust to Mastodon from Twitter. Am I right that there's not an option to simply like a Toot, unless you want to 'favourite' it? Seems a bit much?
And if you 'boost', is that in effect the same as retweeting a tweet with no additional comment?

I wonder if sticks by, or rejects, his views on the NHS from 2005?
as noted in @PrivateEyeNews 1585, letter from Michael Carlson.

We've found Jeremy Hunt's book - and yes, he does want to Privatise the NHS. whatwouldvirchowdo.wordpress.c

”We are still here, and we are not planning on going anywhere. Young people all over the world are stepping up, showing that our leaders messed with the wrong generation.” My full speech from The Climate Event at Southbank Centre this Sunday is here: m.youtube.com/watch?v=ropBOwPv

KEEP IN MIND! #Mastodon doesn't work like #Twitter!

Have you just made the #Twexit or the #TwitterMigration?

Favorites ⭐ - they're not "likes". They don't "elevate" posts, they just the poster know you liked their post.

Boosts 🔁 - these push someone's post into your friends feeds (and help discovery).

So if you ⭐ my posts, that's great (and I love you too)!

But if you 🔁 posts, then more people see them!

OH! - #Hashtags are how you search!

I hope that others have found opening a Mastodon account ok.
Up and running here today, thanks to everyone who’s gone to the trouble of posting how to do it, and thanks to everyone running the servers 👏

Hi everyone. I’m chuffed to finally be on Mastodon and getting my head round it all.
I’m a retired headteacher of a special school and hope to keep in touch with people interested in and in general.
I’m also a lifelong fan and record collector, and enjoy of all sorts, especially .
I like to dabble in what’s going on in , and quirky accounts too.
