I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a thousand times: Encouraging kids to be who they are is suicide prevention.

We are waltzing our way into a global catastrophe and only a handful of people see it. Anybody minimizing this risk just doesn't know what they are talking about. We *must* raise the debt limit in the lame duck because there are good odds it won't happen in the next Congress — and it will lead to a global financial meltdown.

one problem with people saying that older dystopian novels predicted the future is that it disregards that the problems they tackle were also relevant at the time the novel was written. we just haven't fixed anything and the problems have compounded. as expected.

it worries me to imply that these problems are new and not a culmination of decades worth of compounding legislation and attitudes.

@olive @bookstodon People who don't understand having more books than you can read in the short term obviously don't understand that readers have moods. It's impossible to know what book I'm going to read next until I see how I feel when I finish the one I'm reading now. I need *options*.
