Tell the world why you still mask positive but light perr pressure is working.

It doesn’t have to be like this. Let’s work together to get mask protection back in places we are packed in like sardines.

@eatonhamilton @broadwaybabyto MAiD is a great example of how not to implement assisted dying let alone regulate it.

You know what? Disabled people are not lesser than you are. They value their lives just as much as you value yours. They are just as important to the world as you are. If you think something different, go jump in a lake, ableist.

No more using ableist words on this site, huh? No "stu---," "idi--," "la--," etc. You don't mean to be saying that something or someone is as bad as a disabled person, do you, really?

Where are things at?

🔹 unprecedented overcrowding occurring in pediatric hospitals

🔹 only the sickest children are tested

🔹 children’s surgeries cancelled and significant waits for treatment

🔹 Drs asked to be prepared to practice outside their usual scope

they put a christmas sweater on the t-rex at the national history museum in london and it's ridiculous and adorable

If it’s not stated already, I’ll just put this out into the mastodon sphere -
➡️ we should care about long COVID and do more to investigate it
➡️ I support masking. Like. A lot. And vaccinations.
➡️ best way to protect yourself is not get infected in the first place
➡️ good public health puts equity as the core mission
➡️ COVID is serious and still ongoing

Every year I write a twitter thread on #transdayofremembrance for my Hungarian followers but this year I just couldn't. It feels like it's in vain. Hungary is a lost case for me in many aspects and I rather concentrate on more cheerful things right now because this situation consumes me. Also it's heartbreaking that the community we live in with my trans partner is so hostile. But the whole world seems to be like this nowadays.

I should also add it's not just me I'm concerned for.

My aunt is diabetic and a cancer survivor. Her son has schizophrenia, that seems to have been triggered by two really bad flu infections when he was young. My husband's mother, whose age will never be named, is old enough to be high risk.

I basically have a low tolerance for risk. Always have. I don't want to be harmed, and I don't want to cause harm, pretty much in equal measures.

@morganarae When we refuse to mourn and learn as a collective society, we just put ourselves back further in our own ignorance and somehow thinking it is a strength.

@morganarae The joys of capitalism. Then we bitch about the lack of workers when covid killed many of them. Sigh.

@morganarae My family is not supportive either. I was training to be a medical assistant recently and I was the ONLY one left still wearing a mask. I get people have fatigue over covid, but I feel like the world is allowing itself to get reinfected with something worse.

@morganarae Stay strong and be proactive in protecting yourself. I wish you the best.
