An update on managing demands on our service, and on the way we support parent/ carers, children, & young people, from Victoria Hunt - SENDiass4BCP Manager

“We want to make sure that information and advice is provided in a timely way and that you are able to get what you need, when you need it. This is especially important as currently requests for support from SENDiass4BCP, have been increasing at a pace.

For the time being, we are unable to attend face to face school meetings & TAF meetings, unless there are significant extenuating and complex circumstances – this is due to us being particularly busy.
We are still able to support you in preparing for meetings - please contact us in plenty of time.
We continue to provide email and phone support, videos on our YouTube (youtube.com/channel/UCLzmZYKx8) , and both online and in-person workshops (sendiass4bcp.org/events/).
Thank you.

The NHS England Youth Forum is a group of young people who are passionate about improving the NHS. They work with NHS England, Public Health England, and the Dept. of Health.

One of the things they are doing this year is trying to develop easy-read health resources for children and young people, on social media, hoping to make it more user friendly. They particularly would like children and young people with SEND to take part in the survey below.
Thanks.

Arthur Pew was a lance corporal in WW1, trusted with responsibility for his fellow men.

Pew also had a learning disability.

Before signing up, he was regarded as incapable of contributing to society and was segregated in an institution.

Thanks for your patience - our emails are now back up and running. We are very busy at the moment though, so they is likely to be a delay in us getting back to you - but we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Very sorry - we have been advised that some of those trying to contact us by email are not able to get through, and are finding their emails bouncing. We have our IT team on the case, and hopefully we'll be receiving emails as normal by tomorrow afternoon - we will post updates as soon as we have them.

We are still able to send emails, so if you are waiting for a response, and have received an auto-response from us, then we will be in touch as soon as we can.

Thanks for your patience. 🙂

Whilst we find our feet, we will be beginning with our workshops on Making a Parental Request and Parent Carer and Child Contributions. Find out more when our website is released!
We would welcome any feedback you may have on the new site and a link to provide feedback will be made available. We already have further developments planned in the background but we'd love to hear what you think!
